Objective:

The objective of the Cape Select Taekwondo event is to provide a platform for students to prepare for upcoming competitions and make necessary adjustments to improve their overall performance. The event aims to enhance the skills and techniques of the participants through a series of challenging competitions and training sessions, while also providing a supportive environment for them to learn and grow as martial artists. By participating in the Cape Select event, students will gain valuable experience and feedback that will help them to refine their skills, build confidence, and ultimately achieve success in their future competitions.

What is Cape Select?

Cape Select is a prestigious and highly anticipated event in the ATSA Taekwondo calendar. This unique program is designed to sharpen and refine our students' Taekwondo skills, ensuring that they are fully prepared to tackle the challenges of Taekwondo. The concept behind "Cape Select" symbolizes the selection and honing of the finest techniques and abilities, much like how a cape is chosen for its quality, strength, and durability.

Held at the beginning of each year, Cape Select serves as an opportunity for students to showcase their best performance while receiving specialized attention from our experienced instructors. The focus is on improving technical precision, mastering forms (Poomsae), and enhancing sparring strategies, preparing them for both performances and competition environments.

Key Components of Cape Select

Individual Performance Evaluation: Each participant in Cape Select undergoes a thorough evaluation of their individual performance. This includes poomsae (patterns/forms), sparring techniques, and breaking skills.
Instructor Feedback Sessions: Following each participant's performance, our experienced instructors provide constructive feedback. This feedback is personalized, addressing specific areas for improvement and recognizing individual strengths.
Technical Skill Enhancement: The primary goal of Cape Select is to enhance the technical skills of our students. Instructors work closely with participants to refine their techniques, ensuring they meet the highest standards of Taekwondo excellence.
Preparation for Upcoming Performance/ Competitions: Cape Select acts as a preparatory platform for students intending to participate in upcoming performance or competitions. The event is strategically timed to allow participants to make necessary adjustments before these major events.

The program carefully evaluates the students’ abilities, and the most outstanding participants of each batch are offered the opportunity to join the advanced training classes. These advanced classes focus on further developing students' talents, fostering leadership, and providing them with a platform to compete at higher levels

The cape selects event help students prepare for upcoming competitions. Throughout the year, we conducted five Cape Select events, each serving as a crucial step in preparing our students for success. The outcomes of these events have been exceptional, leading to the selection of 8 top finalists who will showcase their refined skills at the Talent Night ATSA and class promotion.
